Friday's Finds

I found the neatest vintage Betty Crocker Cooky Book Friday at the thrift store for only a $1. The original price was 1.95--see the little gold sticker still on it. It's from 1963, so these would be the cookies of my childhood. I was 2 years old in 1963. Doesn't it have a fun cover!

It's been fun to go thru the recipes and see which one's I remember as a kid and which one's we don't really see anymore.
The book is full of wonderful vintage graphics as well--they're as much fun as the recipes! The book doesn't have much wear at all on it--no spills of vanilla or flour dust and it smells good--sort of like a powdery perfumy grandma. LOL! Now to decide which cooky to make first!

I smiled when I saw this one. I bought this same cookbook with Betty Crocker coupons (remember those?) shortly before I married in 1967. I still have it. No sure if they revised it between 1963 and when I bought it.
They are some great recipes in it!

Cathy - This reminds me of a Betty Crocker Cookbook I received as a gift from an aunt when I was about five years old. I still have it! The page with the recipe for sugar cookies is a total mess - that's still the recipe I use for them today!

I love old cookbooks too! I have this exact same one. Come and check out my Show 'n Tell today and you'll see my neat old Fall children's reader book. I wish we could go thrifting together, although we would probably fight over the same things! :0) Sharon
