Show Me Wednesday--Your Dressform

Welcome to Show Me~Wednesday!

Here's how it works....Each week we have a theme of what we would like to see. Snap a photo for us and post it on your blog and then fill out the Mr. Linky near the bottom of the post with your blog name and blog addy and it'll automatically add you to the list so other bloggers can come and see what you are sharing.

Feel free to add the banner above to your post (right click and save it to your own computer please), so it makes it easier for guests arriving at your blog to find your Show Me~ Wednesday post.

Each week we'll also list the theme for the coming week--at the very bottom of the post, so you can prepare and be ready to share!

Don't forget and leave comments where you visit. We all love to hear from our visitors.

This Weeks Theme--Show Me Your Dressform

I have always loved dressforms, partly I suppose because they are a part of sewing and I love anything to do with sewing and partly because this is what my figure really looks like--underneath all the fluff I seem to have gathered through the years.

This is Betty. I found Betty about 3 years ago in a thrift shop in Florida for $50. I snatched her up as quick as I could and ran home with my new found treasure bargain. She has been a faithful companion in my sewing room and has made a cross country move with me, so I'm pretty sure she intends to stay.

This is Betty's favorite outfit--she only has 2. She forgot her hat for this picture, but she is decked out in all of her favorite jewels.

Here's a close up, so you can what she's wearing a little better. Betty is from the 1930's and is in excellent condition. Her fabric tends to be fragile, so I dress her carefully and keep her away from the sun. I love the wire cage at the bottom and her heavy cast iron roller legs. I think I'd like to find her a 1950's or 60's prom formal for her next outfit--something in pink I think.....

And here’s a picture of Betty in her other outfit--suitable for the sewing room I’d say. She’s a very good seamstress too.

Ok, your turn. Show us your dress form and please tell us a bit about her. What is her name, her history etc. Does she have sisters? Just fill out the Mr. Linky below, so we can all take a peek.

Next Week's Theme
Show Me Your-- Sewing Machine

Ruth Rae requested to see everyone‘s sewing machines, so get them ready and if you have more than one we want to see them all! If you have any toy sewing machines we’d love to see them too!

If anyone has any suggestions of what you'd like to see in future Show Me Wednesdays, then please post it here and I'll add it to the list.

Thank you!

Hi Cathy! It has been a while, I have been lurking lately rather than commenting! Renovations, etc. have kept me busy, I have been away a few times "house hunting" and blogging is getting harder and harder each time due to the chaos we are currently in! I would love to participate in Show Me Wednesday's so much it hurts! My dress form is currently in a room filled with all of the vintage sewing stuff! And next week's theme is "SEWING MACHINES????!!!" ..... well I have plenty to choose from!!! About 200! Oh well, maybe when things here get settled, you might show these themes again! ....then I can join in :)
....cheers, Marian
