A View Of Where I Live

I thought I'd share a few photos of where I live. We live outside of town on a quiet country road, yet not too far from town. And if you peek out past the garages outside you can even see the tips of the Tetons Mountains on a clear day. We had a beautiful double rainbow the other night, so I snapped a few pics, but could only get the one in the frame.

"Behold, this is a choice land, and whatsoever nation shall possess it shall be free from bondage, and from captivity, and from all other nations under heaven, if they will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ. --Ether 2:12

The dinner bell.....

The merry go round and a view into the pasture.....

One of the 2 rainbows.....

Sunset and a view of the church steeple where we attend church.......

The girls--Mrytle, Mildred and Wilma--- who won't sit still long enough to pose for their pictures.......

The windmill that sits out front at the corner of the yard. This is where the water works are for the pump, so we can water the yard when the irrigation canals fill up.......

The play area of the back yard--the merry go round, ferris wheel (the bucket seats are in storage), big slide, little slide and swings are just out of view and the wooden big people swing next to the little people tire swing.

Hay that was just bailed days before.....

Boomer the dog--who thinks he's a person......

And our beloved little donkey Dixie.

A Trip Through Yellowstone

This past week my husband's brother and family were here for a visit, so we took a short jaunt up to Yellowstone National Park. It's a real treat filled with beautiful scenery and wildlife galore.....

A view of the Teton Mountains just outside of Jackson Holy, Wyoming. We can see the backside of these from our backyard in Idaho.

A big ol' buffalo! One of many you can see wandering throughout the park. And I finally got to see a bear! We've lived here for 6 years and I finally got to see a bear in the wild--2 grizzlys, but I didn't get to snap a shot of them, because it was the end of the day and my camera batteries were caput. Guess we'll just have to go back!

How pretty is this! Lots of creaks, streams, lakes and rushing rivers.......

While walking on one of the many woodsy trails we happened upon this little buck. There were two in fact and they didn't seem to care how close we got--and yes that is a no-no! We also saw several female elk grazing and a coyote and none of the animals seemed to care they were being watched--just keep your distance though.

My hunky, handsome husband (in the hat), his brother ( and yes his name is Micheal Jackson) and Mike's son JD.

We all had a great visit, a wonderful day, a big picnic lunch, beautiful weather--we never got over 62 degrees all day--and in July! And we took lots of photos!

Just A Day In The Neighborhood

How cute is this.....6 little ponies pulling a cart all decked out in their fancy tack. They belong to our neighbor Mr. Piquet who lives across the field.

Usually Mr. Piquet has only 2 horses pulling his cart, but today he had 6 shiny black ponies. He trains them and takes them to parades and other events and we see him driving his little team on our road quite often. I bet today they are training for our local 4th of July parade.

Janelle even got a turn at driving them!

Mr. Piquet hand makes the fancy bridles, bits and such for the horses and he also makes them for the Budweiser Clydesdales. Pretty cool!

Daddy and daughter had a great ride.

Just another day in the neighborhood.
