Aren't they just adorable! They are art prints by Maud Tousey Fangel from the very early 1930's. They have been scanned in and will come up quite large when you click on them. Feel free to save them to your computer and use them as you wish. Enjoy!

Checking In And Sharing Some Victorian Images

It's been a bit, so I thought I'd better get a post in. Life has changed for me a lot this year and I'm trying to get myself used to the changes and it hasn't left much time for blogging. In fact would you believe that I haven't even read any blogs for 3 months! See, I didn't think you'd believe it, but it's true. I also haven't been thrifting or otherwise treasure hunting and I haven't even created anything new. Sad isn't it, but someday I know I'll get back to it all. In the meantime I thought I'd share with you some beautiful Victorian images, that you may save and use as you please. So enjoy and I will have to see what kind of blog fodder I can come up with until I get my creative self back into the swing of things.

Oodles of Vintage Valentines!

Oodles and oodles of vintage Valentines! This is a pile of my vintage Valentine collection and theres even a few new repros in there too. As you can see I sorta like vintage Valentines--any Valentines really.

And so I thought I'd share a few. It's my Valentine's gift to you. Click on the pictures and they will pop up much larger. Make sure to right click and save to your computer. They've been scanned in at 300dpi and should print out quite nicely. If you'll size them down they'll print out nice and vivid.

These darling little hearts which are only 3 inches tall are from the late 1920's, so that makes them 80+ years old.

There are a bunch here, so please enjoy!

Coming February 14th at Anything Goes Here there's going to be a Vintage Valentine Party, so if you have vintage Valentine's to share I hope you'll join in and if not then I hope you'll come and have fun seeing all the pretty Valentine's that are sure to be posted. Don't forget!

Remember one of my older posts Dangerously Divine Chocolate Cake in a Mug? Well today I decided I wanted something ooey gooey and cinnamony, so going by that recipe I devised a simply scrumptious cake in a mug that tastes like a cinnamon roll only in cake form.

The Art of Germaine Bouret

I recently discovered the art of Germaine Bouret. Her art is so sweet and has such a wonderful innocence to it. Germaine is a french artist that was popular during the 20's and 30's. Here's a sampling of her work that I hope you enjoy as much as I have.......

Irons--What I Had, Have & Want

Ironing--rather boring don't you think (but I do love this vintage photo!). While it may be no fun to do, it's even less fun to wear wrinkledy clothes and I am an ironer and my poor old iron finally died.

See it just came apart at the seams and I have no idea how. I didn't do it and no one in the house is fessing up to it. Hmm.......

So what's a girl to do?........

Well I did have a few other irons.......

...nothing special, but this old travel iron won't do. It has no steam and gets really, really hot, so it would probably scorch my clothes! And besides it's doing decorating duty......

....Then there's my itty bitty, barely 4 inches long really cool little iron that I use for quilting. It's great for quilting, but just how long would it take to iron an entire blouse or dress?.........

...or there's my little Clover quilting iron with the nifty changeable heads, but that would really never do! I would be better off tossing my wrinkled clothes into the dryer and baking them wrinkle free........

...and then there's this.....the Proctor Silex $16.00 iron that came home with me from Big Lots. It will do. It's big enough, it gets hot, but not too hot and it has steam and multiple settings. Good for a cheapy iron that will probably last a year or two if I'm lucky, but I'm not complaining---til it dies right in the middle of ironing my favorite dress!..................

AND then! There is This! The Black & Decker F63E! This is what I want! I had one just like it that my mother gave to me in 1981 as a bridal shower gift and I used it a good 20 years or more before it gave out and went to iron heaven. Nope it's not fancy. It's not a Rowenta, but it's a good, solid, heavy duty, working iron that lasts and lasts the way an iron should. Yup, this is what I want. See I really am a simple girl. LOL!
